FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What's the difference between a PAID and a FREE program?

All courses (FREE and PAID) are ticketed.  We recommend that you pre-register for any programs you are interested in attending.

PAID programs guarantee you a seat.  If you purchase a ticket for a PAID program, your seat is guaranteed and will be held indefinitely for you.  Program fees vary - please see the individual program listings for fees.

FREE programs are available at no cost, but are guaranteed only until 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of the program.  Those who pre-register for tickets will be seated first.  Those without tickets will be seated according to available space.  Ticketed attendees arriving less than 10 minutes before the start of the program will be asked to line up with unticketed attendees and will be seated on a "space available" basis.  When the room is filled, no more people will be admitted.

* Please note that, as a courtesy to our speakers and to other attendees, no one will be admitted to FREE programs more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time of the program, even if there is space available.

What happens if I don't pre-register for FREE programs?

We will save 10% of the seats in each FREE program room for attendees who do not pre-register for free programs.  Those seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to onsite attendees who go directly to the program room and are given a "GO" ticket.  Once the available seats are filled, onsite attendees may wait in a "standby" line to see if any unclaimed pre-registered seats become available at 10 minutes before the program's start time.

Doors to the program room will be closed 15 minutes after the scheduled start time of the program and no one will be allowed to enter after that time, even if there are available seats.

I am an MDA member dentist, do I pay to attend the meeting? May I bring my spouse or a guest?

Free registration to the Star of the North Meeting is a member benefit available to all MDA members who have paid their current dues. Dentists who are registered to attend the Star of the North Meeting may register their spouse or guests for $25 (children under age 18 are free). Dentists and student dentists MUST be registered as either ADA/MDA members or non-members and may not be registered as spouses, guests, dental educators, or in any other registration category. All registered attendees may visit the exhibit hall, attend the keynote program, enjoy the table clinics, attend the Starlight Celebration and register for any seminars. Please note that if you plan to pre-register for seminars, your 2010 dues must be paid before your registration will be processed.

What if I must cancel my registration?

Cancellation requests must be received by QMS on or before April 5, 2010 in order to be honored.  Unused tickets/badges must be returned to QMS before a refund is issued.  Cancelled paid registrations will be subject to a $15 per person cancellation fee.  All refunds will be processed after the Star of the North Meeting, so please allow up to six weeks after the meeting for the refund to be received.

How do I print my CE verification?

You may print your CE Verification Transcript onsite at the CE Verification Stations located in registration or on the exhibit floor.  Don't want to stand in line?  Access your CE Verification record online at www.starofthenorthmeeting.org and print a copy to keep for your records.  You'll need your registration number (from your name badge) and course completion codes for any table clinics or programs you attend.

Please note that you should also keep your program book and any notes/handout materials as proof of attendance.  It is your responsibility to record the completion codes and retain the transcript to verify your individual program attendance.  The Board of Dentistry will not accept a list of completion codes as proof of attendance.
